Moshi Nightlife & Bars
Introduction
Moshi’s nights are low-key and friendly rather than flashy — garden bars, live music, a few proper clubs, and cold Kilimanjaro beer everywhere. Local beers (Kilimanjaro, Safari, Serengeti) run about TSh 2,500–3,500; club entry is usually around TSh 5,000.
Bars & Live Music
Glaciers, in a jacaranda-shaded garden in Shanty Town, fills up on Friday nights with expats and volunteers and grills a well-loved BBQ chicken. Malindi Club in the centre does live music on Fridays and karaoke on Saturdays. Pamoja Bar & Café is the easy expat-and-volunteer meeting spot, while Kaka’s Pub adds billiards, darts and a beer garden. For a quiet drink, Union Café works in the early evening.
Clubs
La Liga is the biggest and best-known nightclub, busiest on Friday and Saturday — take a taxi there and back. Pub Alberto in the centre is the late-night dance-floor standby (closed Mondays).
Staying Safe
Moshi is relaxed, but take a taxi or a ride-app car home after dark rather than walking or taking a boda boda — streets are poorly lit and many bars are cash-only. Keep phones and valuables tucked away. We’re happy to line up a trusted driver for a night out.
