The crater rim viewpoints offer one of East Africa’s great panoramas, looking down onto the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater far below. On clear mornings the view across the caldera is unforgettable.
We are a local assistance contact, not an emergency service. In a
life-threatening situation call the numbers below as well as us
— and read the note about ambulances.

Emergency numbers in Tanzania
Important: Tanzania has no national ambulance service, and
112 does not connect reliably outside Dar es Salaam. If someone is seriously
hurt, getting into a private vehicle to the nearest major hospital is usually
faster than waiting. Call us at the same time — we know which hospital
to go to and can call ahead.
Your embassy handles lost passports and emergency travel documents.
Search “[your country] embassy Tanzania” — or call us and
we’ll find it and drive you there.
