Angama Mara Maasai Mara National Reserve

Angama Mara sits 500 metres above the Maasai Mara on the lip of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, in the exact location where the pivotal Out of Africa flying scene was filmed. The 30 tented suites all face west to the Mara plains below and the view at sunrise — the escarpment dropping away to the infinite grassland — is one of the great morning experiences in Africa. The photographic studio, Maasai cultural activities, and walking on the escarpment with resident naturalists are exceptional extras. In migration season, the herds visible from the dining tent stretch to the horizon.
