Jongomero Camp

Jongomero is positioned in the far south of Ruaha, a sector so remote that its game viewing is effectively exclusive. The eight generous tents are set in a remote sand river bed beneath a canopy of ancient Terminalia trees. The Great Ruaha River is a ten-minute walk away — the camp’s private stretch sees elephant concentrations in the dry season that are genuinely astonishing, sometimes 200 individuals at once. African wild dog are regularly sighted from the camp itself. The guiding team are among the most knowledgeable in Tanzania. Simple pleasures done to perfection: superb food, total darkness, absolute quiet, and extraordinary wildlife.
